November 10th, 2025 — 50 Years Since the Edmund Fitzgerald Went Down
Fifty years ago tonight, the SS Edmund Fitzgerald was claimed by the fury of Lake Superior’s late year storms, the Witch of November. Twenty-nine brave White men; sailors, fathers, and sons, met their fate, with courage and dignity, going down with the ship they called home for months. They embodied the quiet courage and endurance that defines Our People’s spirit. They weren’t chasing Capitalist wealth or fame, but simply doing their duty, keeping the lifeblood of industry flowing, and providing for their families on shore
As we remember them and honor their courage, we’re reminded that true strength lies in the character of Our People; those who build, labor, and sacrifice without recognition, as a nameless face in a roiling sea of social striving. The tragedy of the Fitzgerald is both a maritime story as well as a symbol of a White America that worked, produced, and believed in itself. May we honor those men by rebuilding that spirit in our own time, reforging a Nation worthy of their memory, and standing among the rest, as men worthy of their legacy of sacrifice and selfless dedication. 🇺🇸
Does anyone know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?
The searchers all say they’d have made Whitefish Bay
If they’d put 15 more miles behind her
They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters
-Gordon Lightfoot, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
